The casino occupies a pair of pavilions built for a world exposition on an island in the river, and the hotel operates alongside it as the place guests actually sleep, eat and come back to between other plans. The architecture is the draw before anything else: curved, terraced, and unlike the rest of the city's hotel stock.
Guests use it as a base for the island's parkland and for the city centre a short ride away. Dining runs from casual to formal, and there is a room for concerts and shows. The gaming floor is one feature of the complex among several, rather than the whole of it.

Fallsview Casino Resort
Niagara Falls, Canada
Fallsview is named for what it looks at. The resort is set on the escarpment above the gorge, and a good share of its rooms and public windows are turned toward the water — the reason most guests choose it over hotels a few streets back.
Inside, it works as a full resort: a theatre that books touring acts, a spa floor, a long spread of restaurants, and a shopping concourse that connects it to the neighbouring tourist strip. The gaming floor sits at the centre of the plan, but a stay here can easily be arranged around the view, the shows and the falls themselves.

River Rock Casino Resort

River Rock stands on the arm of the river that runs past the airport, close enough that it is a common first or last night for people flying in and out. The hotel side is straightforward and comfortable, with a theatre next door that carries a regular schedule of concerts and events.
A marina sits along the water at the back, and the transit line into the city centre stops nearby, which makes the resort easier to use as a base than its suburban address suggests. The gaming floor is large, but it is one wing of a building that also does conferences, dinners and shows.

Casino Rama Resort
Rama, Canada
Casino Rama sits well outside any city, in lake country north of the main corridor, and that isolation is much of its character — people drive out to it and stay the weekend rather than dropping in. The hotel accounts for most of the building's footprint.
Its entertainment centre has hosted touring musicians and comedians for years and remains the reason many guests book at all. Around the resort there is golf, a spa, and the lakes themselves. The gaming floor is one of the things on offer here, alongside the shows and the surrounding country.
